Hepatitis B Virus Real Time PCR Kit（RUO）is intended for the quantitative in-vitro detection of the DNA of Hepatitis B virus (HBV) in serum and plasma specimens. The kit is mainly designed for hepatitis B patients receiving antiviral treatment and patients suspected of having HBV infection to evaluate the response and effect of the antiviral treatment by monitoring the baseline and variations of HBV DNA in the patient's blood.

HBV is the pathogen of hepatitis B and belongs to the family Hepadnaviridae. It has a partially double-stranded and circular DNA with a genome length of about 3.2 kb. Hepatitis B is a blood-borne disease and is mainly transmitted through blood (such as unsafe injection), parturition (mother-to-child transmission), and sexual contact.

HBV can infect people all year round without a fixed prevalence period but always leads to sporadic cases. In recent years, the incidence of hepatitis B has increased significantly. HBV mainly causes inflammatory hepatitis lesions and may damage many organs. A few patients may develop cirrhosis or liver cancer.

This kit employs a quantitative fluorescence PCR technique to detect the concentration of HBV. It provides conclusive evidence for diagnosing HBV infection. It can assist in the diagnosis of HBV infection, aid in selecting indications, and evaluate the effectiveness of antiviral treatment.
