BioPerfectus recently welcomed participants from the Seminar on Parasitic Disease Control for Developing Countries to its Shanghai branch for an exchange on malaria rapid testing, diagnostic technologies, technology platforms, and hands-on instrument operation.

The visit offered participants an opportunity to learn more about BioPerfectus’ diagnostic portfolio and technical capabilities, while creating space for discussion around real-world testing needs and practical laboratory applications.

Focus on Malaria Rapid Testing

The exchange began with an introduction to BioPerfectus and its diagnostic portfolio, with a focus on infectious diseases and women’s and children’s health, including HPV and cervical cancer screening solutions.

Malaria rapid testing was one of the key topics discussed during the visit. BioPerfectus introduced its current malaria rapid diagnostic test portfolio, which is designed to deliver results within 15 minutes through a simple three-step workflow and provides different testing options for a range of malaria diagnostic needs.

Participants were also introduced to a next-generation malaria rapid testing solution designed to support a more convenient workflow and broader diagnostic coverage.

Beyond product introductions, the session included discussions on practical considerations related to the clinical use of malaria rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs), allowing participants and the BioPerfectus team to exchange perspectives on real-world testing needs and application scenarios.

Exploring BioPerfectus Technology Platforms

Following the malaria session, participants toured several BioPerfectus technology platforms, including Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), Mass Spectrometry Analysis, Real-Time PCR, and Instrument Automation.

The tour provided a closer look at the technologies supporting BioPerfectus’ diagnostic solutions and gave participants further insight into the company’s research, development, and instrument capabilities.

The visit then moved from observation to hands-on experience. Through guided instrument demonstrations, participants were able to operate BioPerfectus instruments and gain a more practical understanding of their workflows and applications.

Supporting Global Diagnostic Collaboration

The visit also reflects BioPerfectus’ broader engagement in international infectious disease diagnostics and technical exchange.

BioPerfectus has worked with organizations including Africa CDC, the African Union, and the African Society for Laboratory Medicine (ASLM) to support infectious disease laboratory testing and emergency response capabilities. The company has also collaborated with the World Health Organization (WHO) to support the development of molecular diagnostics in Africa.

These collaborations, together with exchanges such as this visit, provide opportunities to better understand diagnostic needs across different healthcare settings and to connect diagnostic technologies with practical applications.
