Introduction
In recent years, outbreaks of novel influenza A virus subtypes have occurred from time to time. For example, the novel influenza A H1N1 virus detected in Mexico in 2009 resulted in a global influenza pandemic. Novel influenza A H1N1 virus (2009) contains gene segments from an avian virus, a swine influenza virus, and a human seasonal influenza virus, leading to significant antigenic changes and causing higher morbidity and mortality. The current laboratory detection methods include virus isolation and nucleic acid testing.

The BioPerfectus Influenza A Virus (H1N1 & H3) Real Time PCR Kit is intended for the qualitative detection of influenza A virus H1N1 (2009) and seasonal H3 subtypes nucleic acids in human throat swabs.
